KCON 2022 Premiere
KCON is the world's largest fan celebration of Korean culture and music.

I had the opportunity to design a fan banner (a.k.a slogan) for KCON Premiere 2022. KCON started in 2012 in LA and has been held every year until the outbreak of COVID-19, when everyone and everything halted. With everything slowly opening back up, KCON also made their comeback, this time having a smaller concert in Chicago. I decided to go because my favorite KPOP boy group, BTOB, was attending and I was not about to pass up this opportunity to see them in person. Me, along with several other US Melodies (BTOB’s fandom), were super excited that they were coming so we decided to welcome them warmly by doing a small project.
The image above is the mockup of the fan banner that I designed for BTOB. I used blue because their official color is Slow Blue. For the first side I wanted to have a small message welcoming them as it was the groups first time to Chicago as a whole. I also incorporated their official logo as well as Melody’s official logo to the front design. For the second side, I wanted something that was personal to BTOB and Melody, something only we would know. The Korean lettering, 예지앞사 (Ye-Ji-Ap-Sa), is a phrase made up by one of the members, Lee Changsub. It means "I love you in the past, present and future". The year 2022 was also the groups 10th anniversary since their debut. The text “10 years & we’re still going strong” are lyrics from their song "Finale (Show & Prove)".

*Disclaimer: This banner was made for personal use and is not sold anywhere.
Photo on the left is the official print and photo on the right is a screen cap of me in the Chicago Recap video, which you can watch on the official KCON Facebook.
You can see my banner throughout BTOB’s performance of “The Song (노래)”.
